Summer’s shit. Roll on winter!

With summer in the UK turning out to be a bit of a damp squib, I’m already itching to get back on the snow. And with all the season edits and teasers for next season’s snowboarding movies that are being released at the moment, I’m getting stoked for winter 2012/13!

Queens of British snowboarding, Aimee Fuller and Katie Blundell have both unveiled awesome season edits over the past week, which served as a reminder (if it was needed!) of what an amazing season they both had.

UK crew The Grindhouse have also just released this teaser for their eagerly awaited new full length film, Scare Money, and it is, quite literally, banging! The crew, which brings together the UK’s best riders, was formed in 2010 to showcase the British underground snowboarding scene.  Scare Money is their second full-length film (their first, Prequel: A Side was released last year) and from the teaser looks like it’s going to be pretty gnarly! The boys travelled to France, Austria, Finland, Canada, the USA and Scotland, hitting some sick urban spots along the way.  Despite being shot on a shoestring budget, the film promises to be one of the best representations of British riding to date.

Last weekend, Bearsden Ski Centre bore witness to yet more British riding at its best, at its Go Big or Go Home event. The likes of Jamie Nicholls and Will Smith travelled up to the Glasgow ‘dry’ slope to take part in the event, which was blessed with some of the city’s finest summer weather – rain. Riders and spectators might have been dampened, but spirits were not, and there was some incredible riding going down, as demonstrated in this awesome edit from Salomon Snowboards

Another treat to drop yesterday was the teaser for Lipstick Productions’ follow up to last year’s awesome, “5 more minutes… please?!”.  Their second full length all girl, all European film, “Eurotic” features Basa Stevulova, Aimee Fuller, Sina Candrian, Conny Bleicher, Aline Bock and Tini Gruber, to name but a few, and from the teaser, it looks like it’s going to be every bit as good as its predecessor.

So, if you’re fed up waiting for the British summer to arrive, take inspiration from these shredits and get down to your nearest dry slope or snowdome and started get hyped for the season ahead. Or, if it looks anything like Hillend did today, spend the day watching some more of the sweet edits that are doing the rounds!

Over to you...
